SPINAL Energetics

Spinal Energetics is a practice developed by Chiropractor and Counsellor Dr Sarah Jane that combines principles from Eastern and Western traditions to support healing and self-awareness. It engages not just the spine and nervous system, but also the subtle energetic field of the body, with the intention of activating the body’s own wisdom to restore balance and wellbeing.

At its core, this practice recognises that each individual is more than their physical form. We are complex beings made up of emotional, mental, energetic, and spiritual layers, all shaped by personal experience, ancestral influence, personality, and life stories. When energy becomes blocked, depleted, or overstimulated, it can manifest as physical tension, emotional imbalance, or a sense of disconnection from oneself.

Sessions typically involve light touch—or even no touch—allowing the body's own energetic intelligence to respond. Natural movements may arise in the spine or limbs, breath patterns may shift, and spontaneous vocal sounds may emerge. These responses are not directed by the practitioner but come from within the individual, guided by intuition and the body’s instinctive drive toward healing. This work does not impose change from the outside, but rather invites collaboration between practitioner and client. The goal is to cultivate deeper body awareness and to gently release or re-pattern physical, emotional, and energetic tension that may have accumulated over time. This process can lead to greater clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of connection to self.

The practice is influenced by a wide range of healing traditions and modalities, including craniosacral therapy, somatic and trauma-informed practices, energy work, breathwork, and meditative and spiritual philosophies from systems such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Yoga. It may also draw from contemporary fields like neuroscience, psychotherapy, and nervous system regulation.

Ultimately, Spinal Energetic is about reconnecting with your body’s natural rhythm, accessing inner stillness, and allowing transformation to unfold from within—creating space for the body, mind, and spirit to come into harmony.
